ROLE: School Leader Fellow
LOCATION: Oklahoma City, OK
SALARY RANGE: $85,000 to $95,000 (+ $5,000 signing bonus)
REPORTS TO: Executive Directors of Elementary and Secondary Schools
TIME ALLOCATIONS: 70% site-level instructional leadership; 20% coaching & mentorship; 10% professional development & school design
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Santa Fe South is seeking a dynamic leader to help further the mission of education equity by founding a new school in South Oklahoma City. The School Leader Fellowship is a highly-selective, one-year, cohort-based leadership program designed to prepare fellows to open a new Santa Fe South school by providing in-depth support, mentorship, and hands-on experience.
PROGRAM COMPONENTS
On-the-Job Learning
Fellows serve full-time on a leadership team at an existing SFS school:
Observe mentor school leaders
Execute leadership responsibilities
Contribute to the school’s overall vision
Planning and Performance Assessments
Follow a structured development plan aligned to key leadership skills
Participate in frequent observations and performance reviews
Demonstrate readiness for school leadership
Mentorship, Coaching, and Professional Development
Receive feedback and coaching from school and district leaders
Engage in ongoing PD from both SFS leaders and outside experts
Deepen knowledge of instructional design and academic standards
School Design
Create a comprehensive school plan for launching and growing a new site
Receive continuous feedback from district leaders
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Instructional Coaching & Team Leadership
Build relationships and coach teachers
Observe teachers weekly and provide in-person feedback logged in the district platform
Provide weekly lesson plan feedback aligned to district expectations
Facilitate content team meetings (minimum 2x per week)
Maintain and share team meeting agendas
Facilitate district protocols and communicate action steps to site leaders and Academic Team
Set and monitor individual teacher development and performance goals
Coaching Practices
Coach through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching, observing, and conferencing
Develop coaching plans for each teacher with actionable steps
Hold triannual planning meetings to align teacher goals with site/district priorities
Curriculum & Instruction
Monitor rollout of district curriculum (pacing and assessments)
Support development and refinement of curriculum as assigned
Collaborate with Academic Team to build pedagogical and content expertise
Assist teachers in planning, differentiation, and instructional best practices
Ensure high-quality testing environments for assessments
Data-Driven Instruction
Analyze student assessment data and develop targeted next steps
Conduct data reviews after district and common assessments
Support content teams in creating and implementing action plans
Design Tier 1 interventions and tiered growth strategies as needed
School & District Strategic Alignment
Assist site leader with implementing the district’s strategic plan
Co-develop and execute 90-Day Plans aligned with district priorities
Help design and deliver PD aligned with district and site goals
Conduct teacher performance reviews (beginning, middle, end of year)
District Leadership Engagement
Follow district-aligned weekly work schedule
Actively participate in district instructional leader trainings
Maintain high expectations for site and district goals
Culture & Collaboration
Model and support school and district culture
Promote a growth mindset and mission-driven work ethic
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Education Administration, or a related field (Candidates currently pursuing a degree may also be considered)
Demonstrated success as a teacher or instructional leader
Deep knowledge of:
Content and learning theory
Blended learning methods
Educational trends and technology
Program planning and implementation
Familiarity with:
NWEA MAP, OSTP, and Oklahoma Academic Standards
Strong belief in the learning potential of all students
Relentless work ethic and resilience
Growth-oriented mindset; ability to learn from failure
Proven ability to lead and collaborate with teacher teams
Strong relationship-building skills
Technological proficiency and adaptability
