BridgePrep Academy is the largest school network managed by SMART Management and consists of 21 schools.     Job Description‍ ‍

    The Vice President of Instruction (VP of Instruction) serves as a senior academic leader responsible for establishing and executing a clear, rigorous, and cohesive instructional and curriculum vision across all BridgePrep and SMART-managed schools. Reporting to the Chief Schools Officer, the VP of Instruction ensures every classroom delivers rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that drives strong academic outcomes for all students including ESE, multilingual learners, and accelerated students. At BridgePrep Academy, we know our students by name, prioritize safety, and are deeply committed to creating supportive, high-quality learning environments where every child can thrive. ‍

    The VP of Instruction leads curriculum selection and implementation, strengthens a consistent instructional framework, and builds a culture of data-driven teaching and continuous improvement. This role supports our strong K–12 bilingual program and develops instructional leaders across 20+ campuses, establishing the systems and expectations that elevate teaching and learning. As we continue our journey to become Florida’s fastest-growing, highest-performing charter school organization, the VP of Instruction plays a critical role in shaping the academic excellence that defines our network.

    Key Activities

    Curriculum Strategy & Implementation

    • Craft a VPK-12 instructional vision.

    • Ensure the instructional vision is compliant in Florida (reading plans, progression plans)

    • Establish and communicate a clear instructional and curriculum stance that defines expectations for:‍ ‍

      • Core curriculum usage (Tier 1 programs)‍ ‍

      • Pacing & scope and sequence‍ ‍

      • Lesson planning requirements‍ ‍

      • Non-negotiables for instructional quality

    • Lead curriculum selection, purchase and distribution of materials

    • Lead creation and implementation of high-quality curriculum supports

    • Lead adoption, evaluation, and continuous improvement of curriculum materials for ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, and elective areas.

    • Ensure consistency and fidelity of curriculum implementation across all campuses.

    • Partner with ESE, MTSS, and multilingual learner teams to ensure curriculum meets the needs of all learners.

    • Develop curriculum training modules, resource banks, and guidance documents.

    Instructional Coaching & Capacity Building

    • Design, implement, and manage a high-impact instructional coaching model for teachers and instructional staff.

    • ‍ Support Principals and campus leaders in developing their instructional leadership capacity.

    • ‍ Conduct school walkthroughs and instructional audits to monitor implementation and provide targeted feedback.

    Professional Development Leadership

    • Lead Beginning of Year Professional Development content & logistics

    • Lead Make-Up Professional Development content & logistics

    Academic Strategy & Curriculum Implementation

    • Ensure consistent implementation of the network’s curriculum and instructional frameworks across all schools.

    • ‍ Evaluate and refine curriculum materials, pacing guides, and assessments based on data and teacher feedback.

    • ‍ Lead alignment of instruction to state standards, assessment expectations, and network priorities.‍

    Data-Driven Instruction

    • ‍ Drive effective data meetings across schools, ensuring teachers and leaders use student work and assessment data to adjust instruction.

    • ‍ Monitor progress toward academic goals and create intervention plans when schools are off track.

    • Team & Vendor Management

    • Manage the Directors of Instruction (DOI)

    • Manage instructional vendors (iReady, PearDeck, Mastery Connect, etc.)

    • Scaling & Network Growth

    • Support instructional readiness for new campus launches.

    • Build academic structures that scale with network growth, ensuring instructional consistency and quality.‍ ‍

    • Lead efforts to codify best practices and replicate successful instructional models.

    Ensure every BridgePrep classroom delivers rigorous, standards-aligned, and engaging instruction that results in strong academic outcomes, effective teaching practices, and steady gains in student achievement across all campuses. ‍

    Success in Year 1:

    • All caseload schools improve a school letter grade (A schools maintain the A)

    • 85% K-2 reading on grade level

    • Stay above 90% test completion

    • 95% of teachers are trained in the implementation of the curriculum they teach

    • 90% of students across caseload of schools take curriculum assessments

    • 70% of students earn a 70% or higher on curriculum assessments

    • Accountability areas grow by 8% from the prior year (proficiency and growth)

    • 85% of caseload DOI retention

    • ESE students demonstrate measurable gains

    • Spanish curriculum fully implemented with fidelity

    • The instructional framework is clearly implemented across all 21 schools.

    • 90% of classrooms demonstrate key components of BridgePrep’s instructional expectations during walkthroughs.

    • Quarterly PD sessions executed with high-quality materials and strong participation.

    • Instructional observation, feedback, and coaching systems are adopted network-wide.

    • New schools launch with strong instructional readiness.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution (Master’s preferred)

    • At least 3+ years of teaching experience; 3+ years of leadership experience; proven track record of achieving success and leading others
